5 Things to Remember BETWEEN Massage Sessions

1. Hydration: Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Your body needs adequate fluids to properly rid itself of toxic material and keep your metabolism running at peak performance.

2. Sleep: Get into a regular bedtime routine. Studies have shown that people who do not get adequate sleep have raised cortisol levels and an overworked stress response. During the sleep cycle, many of the bodies’ restorative processes occur. If you do not get enough sleep your body does not have time to repair itself leading to whole system breakdown.

3. Exercise: This may seem like a no-brainer, but not enough people participate in a regular exercise program. Even a 30 minute walk, 3 to 4 times a week, can help keep joints and muscles strong and loose. Don’t forget to warm up with proper stretching techniques before and after each workout.

4. Ergonomics: Many of the repetitive daily life activities we participate and contribute to our aches and pains. You can prevent these by ensuring you are using proper body mechanics at all times. Having your workspace and computer properly adjusted, being mindful of the way you lift heavy objects, and even making sure to use proper form when exercising will alleviate many repetitive use injuries.

5. Refer family and friends: You have discovered the joys and benefits of massage! Spread the word, everybody deserves to feel this good!! And remember massage is both corrective and preventative. If you have a problem, or a new ache or pain before your next appointment, don’t hesitate to call. We can help speed the healing process from injuries and get you moving again faster. We are always here to help! Call us at (661) 942-5000.
